Dr Ingrid Chung

Dr Ingrid Chung is the Principal GP at Friendship Square Medical and one of the clinic’s founding doctors. A Bayside/Kingston local, Ingrid is known for her warm, thorough and practical approach to general practice.

Ingrid worked at North Brighton Medical from 2018 to 2026 before co-founding Friendship Square Medical in partnership with the owners of North Brighton Medical. She brings many years of experience in general practice, a strong connection to the local community, and a commitment to providing high-quality, patient-centred care.

Ingrid grew up in Beaumaris and graduated from the University of Tasmania in 2007. She completed her postgraduate training in the Northern Territory and has worked as a female GP in the Brighton and Beaumaris areas for several years.

In addition to her clinical work, Ingrid has a strong interest in teaching, quality improvement and improving standards in general practice. She is a RACGP clinical examiner and an AGPAL accreditation surveyor, roles which reflect her commitment to high standards of care, training and practice improvement.

Ingrid is available for appointments on most weekdays, as well as alternate Saturday mornings.

Clinical interests

Ingrid has a broad range of clinical interests, including:

  • Preventive health care

  • Women’s health

  • Family planning and contraception

  • Skin checks and dermatology

  • Travel medicine

  • Cosmetic medicine

  • Chronic disease management

  • Aviation medicals

She also enjoys procedural work and performs skin checks, minor skin excisions, iron infusions and Implanon insertion and removal.

Ingrid is a Designated Aviation Medical Examiner — DAME and is able to provide aviation medical assessments.
